Can you get a Healthier Crunchies Recipe? You most certainly can! Not all crunchie recipes need to be bad for you, in fact they have the potential to add a lot of benefits all in a little nutrient packed bar. A little snack of goo-ey, delicious goodness.
I’m not 100% sure where my love affair of crunchies came from but I know growing up visiting my friends houses they always had a variety of crunchies for the kids. Some of them were home made by an Ouma – which were always the best and some we made as kids to keep the kids entertained type thing all while making a recipe treat that didn’t involve too much actual “baking”. No matter where they came from they always tantalized my taste buds and made me think I needed to make these at home. Sadly my mum was not a fan of baking.
So perhaps a combination of all these memories make crunchies a favourite of mine and one that I also like to buy at every padstal, every Home made market – you know what I mean 😉 I just like to try them all.
Now I don’t want you thinking that I’m a glutton who shovels bucket loads of crunchies down my throat at every opportunity. I certainly know my limits – which is why recipes like this one are FABULOUS! All the fun, without the guilt or excess
Just because we are making Healthier Crunchies now, doesn’t mean you can’t add as much extra goodness or decadence as you want but this is a great way to eat them without over indulging. If you are after a little more caramel flavour then why not try this Classic Crunchie recipe Or when in doubt add more chocolate
